The Ogham alphabet is the earliest known form of writing in Ireland making it a significant part of Irish culture. It also plays an important part in Irish Folklore as there are many tales of Ogham symbols being carved onto branches to make wands and do magic.

These cups have been designed on wood with the history of the ancient celts in mind. The ancient celts had a great respect for trees as they strongly believed that each tree held different special attributes and magical aspects. In fact many of the letters in the Ogham alphabet are named after a range of trees! It was only fitting that these engravings be made on wood to pay homage to their worship of trees.
